Housed in one of London’s few remaining Victorian wool warehouses, The Loom provides 109,000 sq ft of modern workspace that befits one of London’s most diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods.

Originally acquired in 2013, Helical completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the building in 2016 to include a new entrance onto Gower’s Walk, a reception, onsite café and shower/cycle facilities. There are 47 lettable units providing between 1,000 sq ft and 9,500 sq ft of space. Following the completion of works, The Loom has won both a RIBA National Award and a BRICK Award for Best Refurbishment Project. The scheme was also a finalist in the BCO Awards for Best Refurbished/Recycled Workspace.

The Loom benefits from excellent transport links. The building is a 5 minute walk from Aldgate East (District and Hammersmith & City lines) and under a 10 minute walk from Aldgate (Circle and Metropolitan lines). In 2019 Crossrail’s new Elizabeth Line will provide a direct service to Heathrow taking just 35 minutes.

The Loom is the winner of the 2017 RIBA National Award, the 2017 AJ Retrofit Awards (Listed Building over £5m) and the 2016 BRICK Award for Best Refurbishment Project. The Loom as also shortlisted for the 2017 BCO Award for Best London Refurbishment/Recycled Workspace, The 2017 New London Awards for Conservation and the 2017 BCIA Award for Building Project Of The Year (up to £10m).
